If you fill out a form on this site, you're handing me real information about you. Here's exactly what I do with it — written so a normal person can read it.
This site is run personally by Mike Jackson, Sales Consultant at Comox Valley Toyota. When you submit a form on betterdrive.ca, your information goes to me — not to a marketing list, not to the dealership's general lead rotation, and not to anyone you didn't expect.
What I collectFrom the contact and vehicle inquiry forms:
I do not collect: your driver's licence, SIN, banking info, or anything else through this website. Those conversations happen at the dealership, in person, with the proper paperwork and consent.
Why I collect itOne reason: so I can reply to you. Then so I can follow up if you asked me to keep an eye out for a vehicle, and so I have a record of our conversation if we end up doing business together. That's it. I don't sell your info, share it with third-party marketers, or feed it to ad networks.
Where it's storedYour form submission is processed by Cloudflare (which hosts this site) and stored in my personal CRM, which runs on Notion. Notion's servers are located in the United States. By submitting the form you agree to your information crossing the border to be stored there. Both Cloudflare and Notion publish their own privacy and security commitments, which you can review on their websites.
Cookies and trackingThis site uses the Meta (Facebook) Pixel — a small tracker that lets me see, in aggregate, which of my Facebook posts and ads bring people to the site. It also helps me show relevant follow-up content on Facebook to people who visited a vehicle page. It doesn't capture your form data, and it doesn't tell me your name. If you'd rather not be tracked, most browsers let you block third-party cookies, and Facebook lets you manage ad preferences in your account settings.
How long I keep itI keep your contact and inquiry record for up to 7 years from our last contact. That matches typical automotive industry practice (warranty, finance, and trade-in conversations often happen years apart) and lets me actually be useful to you down the road. After that, the record is deleted. You can also ask me to delete it earlier — see below.

Updates to this policyIf anything material changes about how this site collects or stores your info, I'll update this page and bump the date at the top. The current version was last updated on June 18, 2026.
